The 60-second sizing math
Add up what you run in a typical day. For a small RV with a compressor fridge, LED lights, a water pump and device charging, that lands around 55–65Ah per day. Then decide how many days you want between charges:
- Weekend trips (1 day buffer): ~60Ah usable → 100Ah lithium is plenty.
- Week-long trips, some solar (2 day buffer): ~120Ah usable → 200Ah lithium.
- Full-time or heavy inverter use (3+ day buffer): ~180Ah+ usable → 314Ah lithium.

Who should buy 100Ah
If you camp weekends, run a fridge and lights, and drive often enough to recharge from the alternator, 100Ah is the sweet spot. It's light enough to move by hand, fits most factory battery compartments, and costs the least to get started. This is the size we recommend to first-time lithium buyers.

Is one 314Ah battery better than three 100Ah batteries?
Usually yes. A single large cell is cheaper per amp-hour, takes less space, and avoids the imbalance that appears when paralleling smaller batteries. The trade-off is that it's heavy and awkward to move alone.
Can I start with 100Ah and add more later?
Yes, but plan for it. Adding a second lithium cell months later can cause imbalance if the cells have very different cycle counts. If you expect to expand, buy the bigger bank now or buy both cells together.
How much usable capacity do I actually get?
LiFePO4 delivers roughly 90–100% of rated capacity, so 100Ah lithium gives about 90–100Ah. The same rating in AGM only delivers about 50Ah before you damage it.
